New York humanitarian mission calls on President

A delegation from the New York Guyana Watch Mission returned for its second humanitarian tour of duty and in the process paid a courtesy visit on President Donald Ramotar three days before culminating what they hope would be a successful working visit.
The team that includes three medical doctors and other support staff is led by Dr. Tara Singh founder of Guyana Watch, which is conducting a similar humanitarian mission in various parts of the country.
He was accompanied by Dr. Mala Shewram, Dr. Anila Ramphal, Natalie Phagoo, Randy Jaglal, Samantha Persaud, Shana Persaud, Jean Ramdeo and Programme Administrator, Holly Persaud.
During the course of their tour which commenced on July 29, the team visited the Sophia orphanage and Drop In Centre and the Alpha Home in Berbice, Region Six providing medical and other support. Activities will culminate on August 5 with a visit to Mahaica.

On its inaugural mission, the delegation staged an informative presentation on suicide and pediatric asthma with staffers of the Georgetown Public Hospital and donated a laptop and projector to the hospital, and medical and other supplies to various Care Centers around the country.
