Ninvalle for AIBA Moscow meeting

President of the Guyana Boxing Association (GBA) Steve Ninvalle was expected in Russian last evening to attend a meeting of the Executive Committee of AIBA.  The decision making body of international boxing will meet in Moscow today and tomorrow to iron out issues relating to the governance of the sport.

Ninvalle traveled to the world’s largest country armed with a dossier of issues affecting boxing in the region. AIBA has named 2018 as the Year of the Caribbean and plans to place much more emphasis on the development of the sport in the archipelago.

The International Boxing Association (AIBA) is a non-profit international organization that succeeded the former Fédération Internationale de Boxe Amateur in 1946. Since 2006, it has been led by its President Dr. Ching-Kuo Wu and has 200 member federations.

Ninvalle became the first CARICOM national to be elected to the prestigious Executive Committee at the 2014 Congress in South Korea.
