A reliable source yesterday informed Stabroek News that the case file which was sent to the DPP’s Chambers on May 27 was returned to the police and it has been recommended that there be no charge since the two parties had settled the matter.

It had been alleged that Dharamlall threatened the IDB employee after he saw the individual communicating with his ex-wife. He was questioned in relation to the allegation and had provided investigators with a statement.

After the matter was reported, Dharamlall through his lawyer, Glen Hanoman had denied “unequivocally any involvement in any criminal act.”

Leader of the Opposition Bharrat Jadgeo had said that Dharamlall would have to give “believable” explanations to the executive of the party about the allegations.
