U.S. President Barack Obama checks and decides that he no longer needs the umbrella held by a U.S. Marine to protect him from the rain during a joint news conference with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the Rose Garden of the White House in Washington.

That Marine is not there to protect and serve Obama. That Marine is there to protect the white house building and not the President and his family which is the job of the secret service.
