Dynamic Airways delays continue

DECEMBER 31, 2014 | BY  | FILED UNDER NEWS

Up to late yesterday afternoon, several passengers scheduled to go back to the United States with delay-plagued carrier, Dynamic Airways, were unaware that the plane would not be making its return flight to Guyana at the stated time.
Dynamic was supposed to leave John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) yesterday afternoon but according to information out of the US, the plane was grounded for several hours. dynamic-
Local Dynamic representatives confirmed the delay, but stated that the flight was scheduled to leave the US at 01:00hour today to arrive in Guyana before 07:00hours. It was not made clear why the flight was unable to meet yet another schedule, but local officials cautioned that while the 01:00hour time was not yet confirmed, “it’s what we are working with.”
Complaining passengers were yet again angered by the delays, especially since they said they were not made aware of the changes. When asked, a local representative explained that most of the passengers scheduled to fly back to the US on the US carrier were foreign-based and provided overseas information. The rep told Kaieteur News that without local contact information, it was very difficult to get in touch with the passengers to notify them of the time changes.
Captain Gerry Gouveia told the newspaper that the local handlers are working quite well to deal with the plane when it arrives in Guyana. He stated, however, that Dynamic is going through a rough time, but they are down but not out. He too confirmed that the plane is expected to arrive in Guyana before 07:00 hours today.
Since Dynamic’s entrance in the Guyanese market earlier in the year, its operations have been plagued by delays, some lasting more than 24 hours. Several persons were unable to make the trip home to Guyana for Christmas. It was alleged that the flight was overbooked and as many as 100 persons were left stranded, with no other flight being available following Boxing Day.
Dynamic’s poor service provision has drawn the attention of officials, with Shadow Transport Minister Joseph Harmon telling the company to get its act together before collecting people’s money. Tourism Minister Irfaan Ali told the newspaper that Dynamic gave assurances that measures such as additional flights were being put in place to address the delay problems being faced. Many of the delays are usually blamed on mechanical failures.

He already said that people are making too much of an issue about these minor events.  That people should wait 2 weeks to get their refunds and then book again to endure the stress with their $200 vouchers.

This is beyond a joke.  Dynamic must have the most poorly maintained planes in the industry.  Virtually NONE of their flights to GEO have left on time for at least the last 2 weeks!

With all due respect you endorsed this bullshit. This is another scam the PPP is perpetuating on the people of Guyana through their surrogates, yes?

The PPP has forced airlines like Delta out of Guyana so that their friends like Gouviea can continue to exploit the Guyanese people.

That is what these ****ers are doing and we have ***** holes supporting these actions.

Dynamic Airways sued in US Federal Court by Guyana-New York passengers

A United States-based Guyanese lawyer and his brother, who is a local businessman, are suing Dynamic Airways for inconvenience caused due to lengthy delays and flight cancellations in recent weeks.

Moses Rambarran is also urging all passengers affected on the New York-Georgetown route to become parties to a class-action lawsuit that seeks to, among other things, demand full refund of airfares. He said the details of the court action would be posted on his Facebook Page ( https://www.facebook.com/rambarranlawfirm   through which they can arrange to become parties to the legal action.

Rambarran said he and his brother, Rohan Rambarran, decided to file legal proceedings in a US Federal Court because there was no guarantee that the airline would voluntarily pay back passengers. “.. for fear that it may never work out.  We may be waiting limbo for a refund just like we waited in the line for a plane to Guyana,” he said.

The Rambarrans claimed that they together paid US$3,000 in air-fares to travel to Guyana, but in the end had to fly on Caribbean Airlines.

Moses Rambarran said Dynamic Airways has told passengers that they needed to submit their names so that their refunds could be processed; some expected in January and in other cases they would be charged a penalty.

He berated the carrier which is headquartered in Greensboro, North Connecticut for allegedly treating passengers shoddily and inconveniencing hundreds of passengers who had booked to travel for the holidays, funerals, weddings and other activities.  “Dynamic Airways knew they could not perform their end of the bargain yet continued to take people’s hard earned money by selling tickets to unsuspecting passengers desperate to come home to be with their families on Christmas morning,” said Moses Rambarran in a prepared statement.

He said the lawsuit was filed on Monday, December 29 in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York because Dynamic Airways allegedly failed to have planes available to transport passengers to and from Georgetown and New York, causing unreasonable delays and outright cancellations and wait in lines for inhumane hours.

Moses Rambarran said his decision to file the lawsuit, which he said was served on the company on Tuesday, was further prompted by the carrier causing passengers to return to the John F. Kennedy International Airport for up to four days and in some cases sleeping there.  After then, he said that the airline cancelled flights at 2 AM on Christmas Eve citing safety issues.

The Attorney flayed the Guyana government for doing little to protect passengers who have been affected by Dynamic Airways.

The problem is that you aren't even embarrassed to tell us that Dynamic flights are announced as a rumor.  CAL has a flight which departs for GEO around 1 AM.  If it doesn't leave they are responsible.

Dynamic spreads rumors that maybe a flight might leave, and when folks show up they yell "fooled you!".
