THE Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment, through the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission, is advising all fisherfolks and mariners that 3D seismic oil exploration activities is slated to begin offshore Guyana in a few days time.
It said the activities will be conducted by Esso Exploration and Production Guyana Ltd./Shell Exploration and Production Guyana Ltd; through CGG Veritas.
The 3D seismic activities are scheduled to commence from January 20, 2013 and is expected to conclude in mid-March 2013, subject to favourable weather conditions.
The exercise will involve towing a streamer of sensitive devices over a breadth of approximately one kilometer, length of eight kilometer and at a depth of seven meters.
As such, the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment is urging all mariners and fisherfolks to be alert and take necessary precautions to avoid contact with sensitive equipment used to conduct oil explorations activities

rev you live in god country,and i can assure you guyana is hell,why you hate the guyanese people so you want to support a government that have guyana backward by 50 yrs.can i advise you to travell to trinidad and compare the difference between the two country and tell me about the standard of living of the guyanese people.its not fair when guyanese is living out of guyana and trying to tell the world guyana is providing a fair standard of living for all guyanese

Be honest! It was the PNC that bankrupted Guyana---the PPP has turned Guyana around---I was in Guyana late last year---here is my observation---33% of PNC supporters and 90% of AFC supporters are unhappy---the remaining Guyanese are happy and contented.

The Rev admires the deep loyalty you AFC supporters have for your 3rd rate/3 cents leaders---Moses, Nigel, Khemraj, Trotman.
Unfortunately for you folks the majority of Guyanese people see the AFC leaders, particularly Moses and Khemraj, as axe grinders--from their behavior in parliament it was patently clear the AFC leaders had an axe to grind with the PPP---and the Guyanese people noticed this--and didn't like it one bit.
