Kashmir Valley remained on edge for a second day as the death toll reached 17 on Sunday following protests over the killing of the Hizbul Mujhaideen commander Burhan Wani.

Clashes broke out between locals and security forces as news of Wani’s death on Friday spread, with 12 people dying in the violence on Saturday.

By Sunday midday, five more died, including a policeman, either during fresh clashes or sustained injuries.

They likely disobeyed the curfew.  If they allow even the smallest of infraction, then chaos reigns.  It surely does not look good man-handling an old lady, but a curfew is a curfew and breaking it is a way to provide cover to terrorists to move around.  So don't think the benign old lady did not know what she was doing!  It is no different than the Islamic terrorists placing women and children in harms way and then cry wolf!  And a policeman did not die at the hands of some old lady!

Surely not but you dont know the context and what actually took place. These groups are known for setting up incidents then spreading it to inflame tensions. This is part of the overall plan to then justify taking revenge on innocent civilians!  Paki-backed Terrorists are behind all these protests.  And of course it suits your framing!

The Indian military is no less guilty of the Kashmir issue than the Pakistani one.

They are taking their orders from the Pakis. They are afraid that their families will be killed by Paki Kashmir agents and terrorists hidden in Indian Kashmir.

If they are afraid that their families will be killed by Paki Kashmir's agents and terrorists hidden in Indian Kashmir, why would their solution be to risk getting killed Indian police?

What Modi should do is this

Tell the Indian Kashmir people that they are free to renounce their Indian citizenship and go to Pakistan. Their lands will then be given to landless Indian army families. Then we will see how many of them are prepared to leave.

Why do you think they should leave the land of their birth?

There is a significant section of the Hindu Population that want india to leave Indian Kashmir

India must never give up Indian Kashmir because the Pakis will give a large chunk of it to China to ensure peace with China. It will also lead to the domino effect with other states wanting to leave the Indian union.

I must admit that I don't have much information on the strife in Kashmir to take a side except that the strife has been going on for a long time. It seems like a lose lose battle.

Pakistan agitated Kashmir after they lost Bangladesh with the help of India.  So this is revenge as it was a soft spot!  India will not give it up as other parts of India will see problems.  It's a war of attrition!

To give our ancestry lands in Kashmir to the Chinaman is the deepest form of betrayal there is.

the Chinese do not care about Kashmir. Tibet is what they want and it is what they got. In the future they aim to starve India. They own the source of all the great rivers except the Brahmaputra. They insist they have a right to divert these source streams so they flow into their arid regions.

That will not happen.  Jammu is mostly Hindu.  The entire province will remain Indian!  I met several people from that region, and they don't see it leaving the union! Indian should agitate in Pak Punjab and Sind.

India should continue to arm the Balushi separatist group. The Pakis ISI have thousands of people totally committed to the so called Liberation of india held Kashmir. They are taking extensive covert military assistance from the Chinese military in Kashmir. India has to fight fire with fire. By continuing to arm the Balushi separatist groups that want Balushistan to be a part of Iran.

Is this a solution, where will it end?

On my recent visit to India, the best part was spending time ( not enough though) at Mahatma Gandhi Museum. The last walk he took only to be cut down by an assassin's bullet. Today the India he fought for is in shambles due to people like Mohdi.

Pakistan continues to bring Chinese technical military personnel into Kashmir. They travel by night to try to avoid  Us satellites. India has to put a heavily armed separatist Balushi movement into play.
