Yes, thanks for posting.  Definitely worth the time to listen.  Supporters of the two camps will think it's nonsense, but I think he is in target even though this interview was couple years ago.

I wonder why Lall went back to live in Guyana given that it seems like he had a successful life overseas?  I do believe he posts here.  I am going to get the book.

Not to be a sour puss, but Lall's book is not telling us anything new that we do not know. I do like his little pieces in the letter columns in the daily newspapers which I read on Guyana.

The race problem has been there since the split in the PPP and both Burnham and Jagan went their separate ways. We have not recovered since then. Walter Rodney was the only person who came close to bringing the races together. His book on the Guyanese Working class is a classic (like his How Europe Underdeveloped AFRICA). GNI is a telling example of how the Guyanese community is split in Guyana...Just look at the comments in this GNI site...its a mini Guyana out here.

In addition, Lall does not offer any solutions to our problem and how the country can get out of this racial mess...this is another of its shortcoming. Rodney's book gives a good historical outlook. I must say also that Lall sounds a bit conceited, almost arrogant, as if to say that he knows more than all of us.

I have developed quite a collection of books on Guyana recently, devouring everything that is available. This is not to discourage anyone from reading Lall's book...its always a good thing to support our local writers.

Lall gave an indication of a way forward. And his attempt of a solution is more relevant today than when he made the offer. We have seen this last while what are actions of the APNU/AFC. This arrangement simply would not work for the benefit of Guyanese. Lall was correct when he said, there is no viable alternative. Basically, all these political parties are the recycling of cronies-the old boys club.
