20 of the most successful businessmen without degrees

Sorry, I must not be seeing too well. Irfaan Ali is number??

 You certainly is not seeing.

So help me out... What number is Irfaan?

The proportion of people with tertiary education who are successful far outnumber those without who are also successful. Conversely, the proportion of those without tertiary education who are destitute and barely surviving, far outnumber those with tertiary education who are also destitute. Hope this is not too complex for you to understand. It is always amusing when people trot out the few successful people without college degrees without mentioning the state of the millions without.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The new president of Guyana – David Arthur Granger – is the first Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow to become his nation’s head of state.

Granger came to the U.S. – and the University of Maryland’s Journalism school – twenty years ago for the one-year program that was started by President Jimmy Carter in 1978.

The Humphrey Fellowship Program at UMD is funded by U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and administered by the Institute of International Education and the Philip Merrill College of Journalism.

β€œIn the program’s 22 years at the Philip Merrill College of Journalism, the vast majority of our Humphrey Fellows have gone on to senior leadership positions in their home countries, but none has risen as high as President Granger,” said University of Maryland President Wallace D. Loh.  β€œWe wish him and the Guyanese people the very best.”

Granger began his professional career in Guyana’s military. By age 34 he was commander of the South American nationΒΉs defense force. Ultimately he attained the rank of Brigadier and was appointed National Security Adviser to Guyana’s president.

After leaving the military, he established the first Guyanese publishing house – launching several independent publications including the Guyana Review news magazine. He applied to the Humphrey Fellowship Program in 1994 with the desire to learn more about publishing, layout, design and editing. He affiliated with the American Journalism Review during his year in College Park.

Bai Django, this is not a degree program. It is a crash course, more like a paid seminar. Wheh de banna PhD deh?

ACADEMIC TRAINING

University of Guyana -Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts

University of the West Indies– Post-Graduate Diploma in International Relations

If he got his UG degree back in the first PNC era, it could be unearned as many PNC operatives were bestowed with accolades just for being PNC operatives.

Not like Labba buddy who had to earn his.

If writing books would be the proof of good leadership, then Alfred Hitchcock would be President of the world!

Sarah Palin wrote a book too. And it was a best seller.

Going Rogue by Sarah Palin

Alaska shaped Sarah Palin – but her understanding of anything that goes on beyond the frontier state is alarmingly uninformed, says Patricia Williams

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin's memoir needs recipes in the worst way. Admittedly, that's an absurd hook for a book that's supposedly about politics, but Going Rogue uses food, food and more food to create scenes of familial warmth and Mama Bear protectiveness of all those adorable Palin cubs. From the first page, amply baited with halibut tacos and reindeer sausage, to the last, where Palin describes herself as off to bake a cake, I longed for details about how to prepare caribou lasagne, blueberry muffins, fresh-killed seal meat and salmon roe, with strawberry shortcake for dessert.

Geology 101...Rocks for Jocks. A lot of football players took that course in college. The professor knowing they will not be geologists, just give them a passing grade just to get rid of the dumbos.
