IN a press release issued on Tuesday, the National Industrial & Commercial Investments Limited (NICIL) responded to two misleading articles carried in the Stabroek News as

(1):“Desmond Trotman moves to block transfer of Marriott Hotel land lease - envisages fee of $300,000 per annum for 99 years”, appearing in the Saturday, June 29, issue; and

(2) “Calls made for Marriott lease to be investigated”,appearing in the issue of Tuesday, July 2.

Government intends to go ahead with the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) expansion project in light of the fact that the hefty sum of US$20M has already been invested for mobilisation, field and laboratory works, Minister of Public Works, Robeson Benn said today.

Are you kidding me? did you ever try to figure out how many days a cane cutter have to work and starve he belly before he can pay $11US  for one crossing? Compare that to the Demarara bridge with pedestrian crossing built by PNC cost $1US...

When you want to take credit where credit is NOT due then you can explain why the CJIA expansion is going ahead despite the budget cut, and the Marriott will soon finish despite RumJhaat power to stop public funding for the project. The oppositions were also satisfy with the ground work at Ameila Falls and they didn't approved any money for that project as well. You love to blow your mouth in the wind.

Nehru, these funny fellas failed to stop your rocket from reaching the moon. Sachin is taking credit for all the progress that is happening daily in Guyana. Next time the minister of finance should present a straw hut and mud hut budget and it will pass with flying colors.
