If as it has been said, it cost more to produce sugar than it can be sold for, how can farmers ever see a profit planting cane?

The children of cane cutters should be given the opportunity to become whatever they so desire!

That's easier said than done. Cooperative societies in Guyana have a mixed track record. A few were successes but the majority were dismal. As for joint partnerships, I can see janjhat in the horizon. When a canecutta vex wid you, yuh better look out. One disgruntled partner in a business will doom it. Family businesses fare better in Guyana. Like Django & Sons. But a Django Cooperative Society will be like the lawless wild west; cane fields go burn before time if Bahadur nah pleased how the society running.
