The Flying Ace Cycle club continues to assist its young cyclists as they continue their quest to elevate themselves.

The Club, which is based in New Amsterdam, was founded by Randolph Roberts and is considered one of the most active in Guyana.  Apart from organising most cycling events it also assist its members with acquiring cycles, cycling equipment and riding apparel.
Its members dominated the recently concluded National Schools Cycling Championship copping both the champion boy and girl honours, thus helping District 6, Corentyne to retain championship honours.
Recently another up and coming rider, Ralph Seenarine, a student of the Skeldon Line Path Secondary was presented with a racing cycle to help him further his career. The presentation was done at the New Amsterdam Town Hall.
The cycle was donated by former FACC member and overseas, English based cyclists Franco Crawford.  Crawford who was recently in the country had seen the youngster ride with an old cycle and still managed to place among the top finishers. He was approached and readily agreed to assist. Crawford, who still rides, would return home on a regular basis and assist the club and its riders with gear and other apparel. He would also assist other sports personalities and members in the community in need.
Doing the honours on behalf of Crawford who has returned to England was Patron of the FACC and Former Mayor and prominent Businessman Errol Alphonso and Manager of Courts New Amsterdam Branch Stanley McKenzie.
Alphonso, McKenzie, Roberts and Seenarine all expressed thanks to Crawford for his kind heartedness and for always remembering his country of birth.    Seenarine in addition thanked Alphonso, McKenzie and Roberts for helping him along the way. He promised to make full use of the cycle and all well-wishers proud.  (Samuel Whyte)
