Owner of ‘Andrew Arts’ passes on

FORTY-six-year-old Andrew Juman, the proprietor of “Andrew Arts” died yesterday morning at the Balwant Singh Hospital following a cardiac arrest.His wife Chandrowtie Juman told the Guyana Chronicle during an interview at her home yesterday that Juman who had a triple bypass surgery approximately 10 years ago began having health complications about three months now and was in and out of hospital.

 

She explained that on Friday Juman complained of feeling unwell and together they left for the hospital for a regular checkup, as a result of which doctors found that he was having a heart attack. They attempted to arrest the problem but were unsuccessful and he died in the process. His death according to his wife was recorded at approximately 08.30 hrs.


Andrew Juman now leaves to mourn his daughter, wife and other relatives and friends. His wife said that it was always his dream for his 12-year-old daughter to secure one of the top schools in the country at the Grade Six Examination and this year she wrote the examination and secured marks to attend The Bishops’ High School.


According to Mrs. Juman, it is very sad now that days before she turned out to school her father died without seeing her off. She however took comfort in the fact that Juman’s daughter did make him proud before he died.


Asked what she will miss most of Andrew, the widow said that his biggest gift was his kind-heartedness which is known to almost everyone who came into contact with him. She pointed to cases where he would do many jobs without charging for them whenever he was approached by some organisations.


Additionally, Mrs. Juman spoke of Andrew’s all-time willingness to participate in any cultural or religious events which were not necessarily in keeping with his religion. Andrew Juman was a practising Muslim.


The company “Andrew Arts” is known for its exceptional and colourful work in the production and erection of billboards and banners around the country. The company also on many occasions came in for high praise at events such as GuyExpo and Diwali, where the creativeness of Andrew and his men were never in doubt.


Andrew Juman is expected to be buried on Monday according to Muslim rites. The management and staff of the Guyana Chronicle express their deepest condolences to the wife, daughter and relatives of Andrew Juman and salute his contribution and that of his company to Guyana and more particularly, culture.
