Pakistan has a right to defend itself.
Amid rising tension in India's neighbourhood, the US government was asked whether it would step in to aid Pakistan in case its conflict with Iran escalates. Earlier, US President Joe Biden said that he did not know where the Tehran-Islamabad face-off was headed. Pakistan on January 18 conducted "precision strikes" on Iranian territory, mimicking Tehran's action from two days earlier.
