Pakistan team reach Guyana for ODI series
GEORGETOWN (Dunya News) â Pakistan cricket team have reached Guyana from Port of Spain for three-match one-day international (ODI) series against the West Indies, reported Dunya News on Tuesday.
Players looked in pleasant mood at the airport. Former Pakistan batsman and commentator Ramiz Raja gave batting tips to young Babar Azam.
Georgetown, the capital of Guyana, will host all three ODI matches at Providence Stadium that will be played on April 7, 9 and 11.
The ODI series holds extreme significance for both teams owing to direct qualification for 2019 World Cup (WC).
It is worth mentioning here that only top eight teams by September 30 will qualify directly for the WC, and last two teams will be selected after playing the qualifying round.
Currently, Pakistan are sitting at eighth position in the ODI rankings whereas West Indies are at number nine.
Earlier, green shirts brushed aside the Windies in four-match Twenty20 series by 3-1. The ODI series will be followed by three Tests in Caribbean Islands.
