The funds were divided between 10 charitable homes, with each receiving a $100,000 cheque. The cheques were handed out on Wednesday to representatives of the homes during a simple ceremony held at the Guyana Cricket Club Pavilion. According to Managing Director of P&P, Bish Panday, the company recognises the need to give back to the community and seeks to demonstrate leadership in assisting the less fortunate at its corporate level. Panday underscored that the purpose for the donation is to recognise organisations which themselves are dedicated to assisting those in need. β€œAll of you in your own way have been making a positive impact on the lives of the less fortunate and we are happy to contribute to this cause. I know that finance is always a challenge and we hope that our modest contribution will assist, especially at this time of the year when you all would like to give a little more to those in your care,” Mr. Panday said. Among the recipients were the Ptolemy Reid Rehab Centre, the Hauraruni Girls’ Home, Uncle Eddie’s Home, David Rose School for the Handicapped and the Dharm Shala.
