According to Williams, he had been out drinking with his girlfriend’s brother at a bar last Tuesday around 22:00hrs.

He said that after they were done drinking, he decided to follow the young man home. He said that he went inside of the house and his father-in-law was awakened. He admitted that his girlfriend would regularly sneak him into the house, against her father’s wishes.

But on the night in question, Williams went up the stairs calling for his girlfriend, unaware that her angry father who had gotten wind of their plans, was waiting for him.

“I went at the back step calling for my girl. Same time I see a shadow in the kitchen and when I peep, she father bore me in me eye,” he pointed out.

“When he juk me, I feel something hot, hot and I holler, “wah yuh do me eye?”

Williams said that his father-in-law has denied stabbing him in the eye.

He explained to this publication that the matter has since been reported to the station but he was unable to give the police a statement.

His girlfriend, he said visited him a few times and informed him that her father is in the lock-ups.

According to the injured man’s family, the couple has been together for eight years and was planning to get married very soon.

Williams’ mother and grandmother have both expressed dissatisfaction with the entire situation.  His mother said that her son is a frequent visitor to the home and she has no idea why the man would do something like that, since they would usually get along very well.

His mother cited that the family has since offered to compensate her son and the girlfriend has indicated that she will work and take care of him.
