Iran has good and bad qualities among it's people and government like any other country. Israel is situated between foes that would like to see it disappear from the world map. Israel is America's strongest ally in a region where conflicts never ends. In this world, power and influence rules, not love or hate as you put it. When Iran speaking directly to Israel's existence, it violates every nation's national security within that region and that of America as well, and any civilized nation will come to the aide of the United States. If a war with Iran is imminent then it is justify to safe guard the entire region.
