Who can stop the great people's party, the winner of winners in Guyana, the People's Progressive Party/Civic? Not a sour soul!

Bookman, Enough to drive fear into the AFC/APNU. Now we can expect the opposition to create all kinds of monkey motion.......they are now running scared.......as they have nothing...I repeat nothing to show their financial backer.

PPP, the only Party abhorring bigotry – President
at massive Lusignan rally

Georgetown, GINA, October 23, 2011

With only five weeks remaining before Guyanese go to the polls, the ruling People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C) continued its campaign trail, abhorring bigotry and confident of another landslide victory.

President Bharrat Jagdeo told supporters today at a massive campaign rally on the Lusignan Tarmac, East Coast Demerara that the PPP is the only Party preaching unity and social cohesion.

“We are the only Party that does not preach race or religious dislocationâ€Ķ and the others pay lip service to this,” President Jagdeo said, assuring that the ruling Party’s campaign will continue to be energetic and filled with echoes of love, unity and progress.

The Head of State spoke with disdain about sentiments expressed by activist of the African Cultural and Development Association (ACDA) Tacuma Ogunseye who he said continues preaching race-hate messages that surprisingly attracts no media attention.

President Jagdeo believes that the activist is being used by Opposition Parties to instigate prejudice and made reference to his recent remarks that “power must be won with or without the ballot box.”
The visible ethnic mix of supporters who have turned out in their numbers at the last four PPP/C campaign rallies, has thwarted the long held stereotype that ethnicity and politics are closely associated.

Some political parties are still however, trying to keep the stereotypical view alive and President Jagdeo pointed a finger at the Alliance for Change (AFC) which he said has labelled the PPP/C and the People’s National Congress (PNC) as race Parties.
Party member and Attorney at Law Anil Nandlall who was one of several who spoke on the platform, told the gathering that the coalition of different ethnic groups supporting the PPP/C is the fulfillment of a dream former President Dr. Cheddi Jagan had longed desired to realise.

“As I look at you in your thousands, both Indo and Afro Guyanese, I have seen the same crowd, the same mixture at Albionâ€Ķ at Kittyâ€Ķ at Linden and I know that finally we are achieving that goal of building a united Guyana under the People’s Progressive Party,” Nandlall said.
Chairman of the Ethnic Relations Commission (ERC) Bishop Juan EdghilL who shared the platform said that as he travels the country and engages in dialogue with Guyanese in every village, the call for unity has been clamouring and the ruling Party has answered that call.

“As an independent thinker, as someone who has watched what is taking place in Guyana, I can publicly declare without fear of contradiction, it’s only one political Party that has preached and practiced unity, and that is the PPP/C,” Bishop Edghill said.
Bishop Edghill used the occasion to respond to critics who expressed the view that the ruling party is atheistic, saying that the right of every individual whether Christian or not to chose a Political Party of his or her choice must prevail.

Former Guyana Trades Union Congress (GTUC) member Gillian Burton confirmed her membership with the ruling Party, defending her decision with the right of every Guyanese to freedom of association.
“For those who over the past week seem to have a problem with my presence at the PPP/C rallyâ€Ķ I hereby no nationally declare that I Gillian Burton endorses the campaign of the re election of the PPP/C to Government.
The Party’s remaining rallies are planned for Bartica, Region Seven, Mabaruma, Region One, Skeldon Region Six and Lethem Region Nine.

Since I have been following PPP rallies since 1992 the party gets its biggest crowds at Albion, Kitty and Lusignan. Kitty was down a few thousands this year. Albion was the smallest I have ever seen it. This Lusignan rally however is as large or bigger than previous ones. The PPP is doing good in region 4. Howveer, I stand by my previous comments - THE PPP WILL BE LUCKY TO GET 40% ONCE APNU AND AFC GET THEIR PEOPLE OUT. AFC IS PLAYING ITS PART.

I am not interested in Navin's where about. I know one fact it will be business as usual if the PPP wins over 50%. The evil you see happening now multiply it 10. I DON'T CARE ABOUT NAVIN. I would also caution the AFC not to get distracted by focusing on Nagamootoo because he may very show up at a rally also.

Is that another way of saying APNU and AFC have agreed on their tasks? dunno

Moreover PPP and PNC always worked together and colluded. Like how you guys stole the GECOM funds and how Corbin-Jajdeo colluded to pass a US$15000/mth pension (tax free). Man...yet that religious jackass said Jesus would vote PPP. What a bunch of thieves!

Peter will fit in very well with the PPP. I always thought he belonged there.

If you can't use the man, don't abuse the man. Big Grin

Moses is a great, articulate and powerful politician that has much value in the Alliance for Change. A Moses Nagamootoo in Parlaiment under the AFC flag and in an AFC Government is a powerful working class victory.

I am privy to the dialogue and we are almost there. Only this morning the final meeting of the emmissaries is taking place and MOSES is scheduled to have a press conference today formalising his dis-engagement with the Jagdeo PPP.

He will forever be a Jaganite and we have many JaGANITES in the AFC.

We all are preparing to welcome a brother into our fold as we march to City Hall on Thursday to present a list that will, hopefuly have Moses Nagamootoo on it.

There is a place for Moses in the AFC always once he remain a fighter for the working class.

I see you have become less ambitious. Content to ensure that the PPP wins, but with less than 50%. Glad to see reality is finally hitting you.

What an embarrassment for you all if the PPP wins region 4. Too busy campaigning and Region 6 and you forgot your core voters.

Now you hope the APNU (the party you all said was failing) can get its supporters out to help the AFC confine the PPP to less than 50%.

Well as we can see rural Indos will vote PPP as expected. Urban Afros will stay home, so the PPP gets Region 4 by default.

Now when I said so you all called me a "PNC", then you all changed your tune and I became a "PPP".

This is what the AFC gets by arrogantly thinking they have the black vote (you got 20% last time) so you can ignore this bloc and focus only on Indians...changing this strategy only at the last minute when you saw how paltry the attendance at your meetings in Gtwn was.

I will be interested to see who you all will blame after you lose, getting maybe 15% of the vote.

"Personal opinion" would be the category under which you file this.

Identical to yours, also.
Alas my dear man, my brains are not covered with mold and cobwebs and hobbled by age. That time is yet to come ,so with respect to politics, my offerings are not personal but that which reasonable people would considered a general proposition.

You were born an IDIOT so I am not surprise at your abject STUPIDITY.
