Philly PD tries recruiting Kanye West as next officer
Officer West reporting for duty.
The Philadelphia Police Department just pulled a Taylor Swift and took a shot at Kanye West.
“We R hiring, @kanyewest! Starting salary of $47,920; u could be debt-free by the year 3122!” the official Philly Police Twitter account tweeted on Thursday morning along with a link to its careers page.
Would law enforcement distract the rapper from his creative process?
In one his new songs “Freestyle” off of the album “The Life of Pablo” he yells, “Hands up, we just doing what the cops taught us!”
Kanye West’s rants are getting more ridiculous by the tweet
A photoshopped image of Kanye’s face onto an officer in uniform accompanied the tweet, which received more than 1,000 retweets and 800 likes in just one hour.
The police department decided on the tweet after West announced he was $53 million in debt before his performance on Saturday Night Live last weekend.
"I write this to you my brothers while still 53 million dollars in personal debt," he wrote. "Please pray we overcome... This is my true heart."
On Monday, the artist took to Twitter again asking for money and, this time, Pizza Hut tried to come to his rescue.
“But I need access to more money in order to bring more beautiful ideas to the world,” Kanye wrote.
Pizza Hut responded, “We're sorry Kanye. We just can't accept this. Please give us a call.”
Accompanying the chain’s tweet was a photoshopped image of “The Life of Pablo” album cover turned into West’s supposed resume.
Pizza Hut’s tweet garnered more than 15,000 retweets and an additional 15,000 likes.
The Kanye West rant continued on Tuesday with a series of money-related tweets.
“Money doesn’t make me who I am,” he tweeted. “I wanted the world to know my struggle...”
West went as far as asking Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg to help pay off his debt.
