PM visits Science and Technology Exhibition - urges students to ensure they visit

Prime Minister Samuel Hinds today visited the Indian Science and Technology Exhibition at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall and after being given a guided tour of the exhibition, he pronounced that it is very interesting and a good tool for teaching and learning.

“Some of our students who are taking examinations at this time… I would like to commend all the teachers and the students and invite them all who have not come, to come,” he said.

 

Mr. Hinds visited every booth and he engaged physically and mentally with some of the interactive exhibits. The exhibition which opened on August 20, is providing the Guyanese public with an overview of over 7,000 years of science achievements in India.

There were also students from different schools who were accompanied by their teachers while the Prime Minister was at the exhibition. The students were drawn from school such as L’Aventure Secondary School from Canal Number One, and Greenwich Park Primary School both in Region Three and, The Guyana Education Trust College.

In collaboration with the Indian Science and Technology Exhibition there is a teachers’ three-day workshop at the Walter Rodney Archives which concluded tomorrow. Today there were 10 teachers from Linden who were engaged in the workshop and 15 others from various schools around the country.

The workshop has been set up to showcase Mathematics and Physics teaching aids to the teachers. It is open to all teachers so that they can visit the workshop to enhance their knowledge of making teaching fun.
