Who named the vessel Kanawan?
Someone totally messed up (the captain) and should be dragged over coals for this but blaming it on PNC is asinine.
POOR PLANNING ON Y0UR PART, DOES NOT CONSTITUTE AN EMERGENCY ON MY PART. ITS NAT ME JAB.
Cain, who is goin to drag the captain ova de coals ? These guys drink on the job and get away wid it.
What surprises me. AFC government ministers don't get involved. They are making it easy for the PPP to win the next election. Pissing the people off against the government.
Persaud said that he has been travelling the Supenaam-Parika route almost daily for a number of years but this is the first time he ever encountered such a situation.
So this is the first time that it has happened and Yuji get all excited like a batty hole virgin.
We are on our way back to the past. A past we thought would never return. Never say never. With this new government we are surely heading to the past that we Guyanese really dread.

E’bo ferry runs aground again
Jan 16, 2015 News
The M.V. Sabanto which was transporting passengers to the Good-Hope/Supenaam Ferry Stelling; ran aground in the vicinity of Hog-Island on Wednesday evening, leaving a number of passengers stranded in the Essequibo River until yesterday morning when they were rescued by speedboat operators.
The ferry had encountered similar problems early December last, with the vessel ending up in some bushes aback of Wakenaam. The initial incident involving the M.V. Sabanto took mechanical workers almost a week to render assistance to persons whose vehicles were left stranded on the boat.
Wednesday night’s incident saw a number of passengers who were heading to the Essequibo Coast again being stranded for hours due to the boat ending up on a sand bank.
A Transport and Harbours official opined late Wednesday that it was a possibility that the M.V. Sabanto was grounded due to the shallow area which the boat was traversing at the time. The official further mentioned that when it was safe, passengers would have been allowed to board the speed boat to Supenaam which they did yesterday morning.
The M.V. Sabanto departed the Parika Ferry Stelling after 6 pm and was expected to moor at the Good Hope/Supenaam Ferry Stelling after 8 pm on Wednesday, before the incident.
While concrete information as to what may have caused the ferry to be grounded has not surfaced, a source has indicated that the Chinese-made ferry may have a problem. The source said that the boat may have experienced a computer shut down and when that happens, the vessel would drift and the engine could become stuck in the mud which would pose further difficulty in getting the boat out of the shallow mud.
The source further emphasised that the ferry should ply the Supenaam/Parika route when the tide is high. The M.V. Sabanto after being stuck for hours was able to moor at the Supenaam Ferry Stelling around noon yesterday.
Only recently, the Transport and Harbours Department desilted certain locations in the Essequibo River.
The buck stops with the PNC, they run out of money for fuel for the boat but they find money to spend on upcoming sport at Durban park for their supporters.
They have money to sport and wine down but Indo Farmers cannot take their products to market as a result of the PNC not having money to purchase fuel for the ferry to take agricultural products to market.
Classic PNC style.
PNC main focus is to sport, fete and wine down.

You don't want PPP supporters to mention past atrocities of the PNC, yet you post and old outdated article from 2015. You don't seem to remember what you write here?
DONKEYS can do a far better job than the PNC. Imagine where that leave their GNI FILTH HEADS.

this is bullshit that ferry always in trouble regardless of who rule guyana its seems that no one have the will to do a effect job.
The fact is that it is the Indians who are actually producing tangible products in Guyana and generating foreign exchange and tax revenues. The Blacks are dependent on the tax revenues and are barely involved in farming and other revenue producing ventures. They mostly occupy govt jobs. Wouldn't it make sense to support the Indo farmers rather than kill the goose that lays the golden egg?
