PNC Needs Dedicated Leaders

Emmanuel Wilson, a general secretary aspirant of the People’s National Convention (PNC), has said the PNC needs true and dedicated leaders to make significant progress in its electoral fortunes.
He has, therefore, entreated delegates of the party to elect individuals who see the interest of the party as paramount.
Mr Wilson, who is currently the National Organiser of the PNC, expressed concern that the behaviour of some party leaders showed they had more interest in the welfare of other political parties than that of the PNC.
“Some of our leaders purport to represent the party on the radio and other political shows but almost all the messages they communicate are more of policies of other political parties,” he stated.
He explained that if PNC was unable to create its own identity, it would weaken the prospects of the party in winning any elections in the country.
He said the practice of some leaders singing the praise of other political parties at the expense of PNC was impacting negatively on the party’s chances of winning parliamentary seats.
He said the party was currently unable to present an independent party position on national issues as their contribution to governance in the country.
He, therefore, asked that a new crop of leaders should be elected in the upcoming internal party elections to position the PNC as an independent, attractive and vibrant political party.
Mr Wilson said PNC was not an appendage to any big political party in the country and its leaders should stop making it subservient to other parties.
