GUYANA is presently going through a transformation like none it has seen before as it relates to the political landscape.
On Thursday August 2, 2012, I had the privilege of visiting the National Assembly for the first time in its current dispensation; I was impressed somewhat by the conduct of some of the Members of Parliament. However the conduct of
some members of Parliament on the opposition side left much to be desired.
Sir, I sat and listened to the Honourable Attorney General, Anil Nandlall as he made two of his three presentations. I was very impressed with his conduct and attitude in the face of great distraction and unbecoming, childish behaviour by opposition Member of Parliament, Mrs. Debra Backer.
Mrs. Backer needs to be reminded that she is not at a PNC meeting where this type of behaviour is prevalent but rather at the National Assembly where our nation’s youth look for leaders whom they can emulate. It is OK to heckle during a presentation, but like anything else when abused it can be dangerous. What is more disappointing about this whole episode is that Mrs. Backer is not a novice Parliamentarian, but rather the current Deputy Speaker and leading member of her party who also served in the 9th Parliament.
Mrs. Backers display in the National Assembly reminded me of the days when bullies controlled the Government of Guyana, during the PNC’s time in office. Democracy was a foreign word. Bullyism was the order of the day; it was either my way or the highway.
Now that the PNC has been somewhat empowered by the one seat majority, the opposition currently hold in the National Assembly, we see a resurgence of these intimidating tactics.

It is with this in mind that I have decided to break my political silence, for I can no longer sit idly by and allow my country to slip back into those dark days when the majority of Guyanese lived in fear of their Government and its agents.
I believe the democratic gains made by the PPP/C must be protected and preserved by all means. Therefore I am rejoining the fight to keep Guyana on its developmental track as we move forward.

Oh how we long for the blissful days of autocratic rule and unimpeded access to the treasury to do as one please! Those halcyon days of blissful unfettered  leeching at the states teat  were the times of our lives! That is indeed democracy in its essence! O never mind those cantankerous and ill disciplined beasts and their infernal whining as to being left out. What would they know of how to rule? Are we not the new Sybarites, the PPP, the Party of immaculate perception? Is not democracy what we say it is?

Ms Backer thinks she is in the British parliament where those uncouth Englishmen hurl verbal barbs and sometimes chairs at each other in rapid succession. This is the Guyanese parliament and the PPPs dominion where every voice is of necessity to be squelched even that of the mice since we know and always know best!

Of course it cant. It must persuade them to act as agents for good. The PPP, being calcified in the posture of sucking on the nations resources unchecked cannot be an ally. One can always kill with a borrowed knife. It is it sound strategy to accomplish ends one cannot pursue on ones own and as long as one's cause is just the strategy is moral.

as noted many times, you have the brains of a sow. You and that imbecile above completely missed what I said. Have you ever heard the phrase " the enemy of my enemy is my friend"?  Were Stalin Russia and Britain friends when the joined forces to confront a common enemy in Hitler or is the over riding good of cooperation  not of greater beneficial ends  to each despite never being friends? Did you get the phrase "to kill with a borrowed knife"?
