"Totally shameless that the PNC/APNU would propose to slash from the budget any provision from the office of the First Lady. They were trying to cut the 10 million dollars allocated to that office. Thankfully the AFC acted decently and refused to support that bit of madnes. For that I commend the AFC.
APNU has undressed themselves as people who have no interest in promoting women or their causes. Remember this is the same party who refused to show up and boycotted an event by the speaker to celebrate the women workers of parliament only in march. I am tired of covering for them because I believe honestly that women should not be seen to be fighting among themselves.
I believe the time has come for us to separate the women who support other women from women who pay only lip service to the promotion of women and their rights but when given the opportunity do just the opposite to that which they profess to believe. Could we in one collective voice condemn this anachronistic behavior of the backward men and women in the APNU. Could we remind them that long gone are the days where women are expected to be of service only in the kitchen and the bedroom? Let us support any work that is being done by women in general and by our country's first woman.
