During yesterday, the police say that ranks of a police traffic patrol stopped a group of five men who were on three CG motor cycles at Norton Street and Louisa Row, Georgetown.

A search was subsequently carried out on the men and an unlicensed 9mm. pistol with 15 rounds was found on one of them who is a Police Constable stationed in ‘B’ Division (Berbice).

He has been placed under close arrest while the other four men have been arrested and are in custody assisting with the investigations, the police said.

The motor cycles have been seized by the police.

Jail this "no good" you swore to protect and serve, then broke the law.

This is good news as the CG bandits have been wreaking havoc on the population. But on the flip side, if you take away the source of income from robberies then it must be replaced by another source. So far we have not seen this govt moving in this direction of increasing job growth.

The government should not get too involved in creating jobs. That sort of policy tend to create nepotism and ghost workers. Job creation should be left to the private sector, where bosses are more likely to keep an eye on the bottom line and fire anybody who is not pulling their weight.

They should be doing more to attract investors and implementing policies to foster greater economic activities.  Instead they resort to belt tightening in the wrong areas and wasteful spending on salaries and sporting their supporters.
