THE Guyana Police Force said a number of persons were arrested and are in custody following ‘sting’ operations conducted by its ranks in several areas in and around Georgetown over the past two days, during which stolen items were seized, two revolvers and a quantity of ammunition recovered.

‘RECOVERED’: A .38 Taurus revolver with six (6) rounds and a .357 Magnum revolver with three (3) rounds

t said on Wednesday, police in Georgetown carried out operations in Kitty, Leopold Street and East Ruimveldt,   arresting a total of twenty-four males in cordon and search exercises. The men were arrested for offences ranging from possession and trafficking in narcotics and investigations into armed robberies. There was also the seizure of two motorcycles which are suspected to have been stolen. Meanwhile, the police yesterday conducted a similar operation in Sophia, where ten males were arrested pending investigations into burglaries and armed robberies. The police yesterday also recovered a laptop which was reported stolen. Yesterday also the police conducted a search on a house at Bel Air Street, Albouystown during which a .38 Taurus revolver with six rounds and a .357 magnum revolver with three rounds were recovered. One man has been arrested in connection with that find and is in police custody assisting with the investigations.

Nigel and the AFC will represent the criminals, as usual. The GPF investigators will provide poor evidence and as usual ALL OF THEM will be freed by the Court. The PPP knows this. Mark my words they will be freed just like the recent court decision on the Lusignan massacres.
