Policeman accused of raping female colleague

A Police Constable betrayed the trust of a female colleague when he had forced sex with her after offering her a drop in his car.
The rank, who is reportedly stationed at the Number 10 Police Station, in the Mahaica Creek, was placed under close arrest yesterday after the female rank reported the matter to her superiors at an East Coast Demerara police station.
This newspaper understands that on Thursday night the female, one of the recently appointed Traffic Wardens, had begged the Constable for a drop to her home in Plaisance.
But according to a reliable police source, the Constable took her to a bar in Plaisance where she accepted a “few drinks” from him.
They later left Plaisance and headed to another location in Albouystown where again they engaged in more “drinks”.
It was just after they left the Albouystown bar that the alleged rape occurred.
The source said that the Constable did not even have the courtesy to take the warden back home.
The traumatized warden subsequently reported the matter the following morning and unknowing to the Constable, a message was sent out that he be arrested whenever he turned up for work.
Sure as day turns to night, he was promptly placed under close arrest while an intense investigation has been launched.
“Rohee gon jail he, because is one ah Rohee police he touch,” the source said.
