Port Kaituma Primary defeated Canal Bank Primary by nine wickets when they collided in the first round of the Ministry of Education U-13 10/10 softball competition which commenced recently in region one.
Watched by a fair sized crowd under overcast conditions at the Canal Bank Recreation ground, Canal Bank primary were bowled out for 34 in 5.5 overs after they were inserted. Shamar Bailey bagged 5-6 for Port Kaituma Primary who responded with 37 for 2 in 4.4 overs. Dennilson Morris scored an unbeaten 21 and Ronaldo Frazer 13 not out. In Game two, Canal Bank Primary defeated Sebai Primary by one wicket. Sebai Primary batted first and made 37 all out in 5.5 overs. Ronald Hutson made 10 not out, Sean Daniels eight. Daniel Poon had 3 for 5 runs, while Kemwel Wilson and Keon Williams took two wickets apiece. Canal Bank Primary replied with 38-9. Daniel Poon made 12, Lendi Henry got 10, while Elon Poon, who smashed Ronald Hutson for a massive six over the midwicket boundary to seal victory, remained not out on six. Oral Campbell captured 4 for 3, Keon Beharry snared 4- 6 and Ronald Hutson 1-12. The competition continues today with Port Kaituma Primary facing host Sebai Primary
