PPP PRESS STATEMENT

The People’s Progressive Party (PPP) notes with serious concern, the blatant abuse of state resources by the David Granger-led de facto government.

President David Granger held a huge Birthday Bash at Guyana Defence Force (GDF) Base, Camp Ayanganna, where hundreds were invited to this high profile birthday party.

Clearly, this is an abuse of State resources by the APNU+AFC Administration, instead of focusing on the current spiraling crime situation and jump-starting economic activities and development of Guyana.

The new government obviously has different priorities and is now focused on partying, an extravagant inauguration, traveling on state resources to the United States for victory celebrations, while paying scant attention to the basic concerns of citizens.

The APNU+AFC, while in opposition accused the PPP/Civic Administration of abuse of state resources, in this regard, they are no different.

The question therefore is this change the coalition promised?
