PPP executives urged to work hard

In its quest to wrestle power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) has urged its executives in Techiman in the Brong-Ahafo region to work hard.

The PPP noted that though the country faces numerous challenges it needed leaders who would work hard to make things work so as to save the nation from total collapse.

2012 flag-bearer of the party, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, made the call while addressing party executives in Techiman in the Brong-Ahafo region over the weekend.

According to him, the PPP found it difficult to understand why the country’s economy should be failing in spite of her abundant natural resources.

But notwithstanding the difficulties, he stressed that the PPP would not  rest on its oars to send the party’s ‘good news’ to every home between now and November 2016  to make sure that its message resonates everywhere.

He pointed out that the current state of the country’s economy was an indication of how Ghanaians voted.

“People have been voting in a certain way for years but see no improvement in their lives, and they won’t change the way they vote yet they complain of hardship,” said Dr. Nduom.

Citing the Brong-Ahafo as an example, he said the region has large tracts of unused lands, yet there are no industries or factories to help the unemployed youth in the region with jobs.

Many people in the region, he said, were into farming with no meaningful change in their lives.

Dr. Nduom further cited one of his companies, FreshPak, which is into manufacturing of serving trays, take away bowls among others in Elmina, to show that other regions needed to have such businesses in their areas.

In his opinion, Ghanaians voted for a ‘talker” “so all he does is ‘talk, talk, and talk” while there was so much required of him as a leader of the country.

“We could all throw our hands in despair as many people have done, but that also will affect our mother Ghana that we dearly love, and this is why you and I must work harder this time,” the PPP leader told his party executives in Techiman.

He said the NDC government has been bereft of ideas to lift the country from its current doldrums, hence the need for the PPP to be voted into power to lift the hopes of Ghanaians again.

“This is why the PPP must do its homework well as there are several areas for us to reach, many advantages in our favour than any other party in this country.

…every executive has the responsibility to work extra hard to ignite vim and vigour in the members to also work hard. We must all be committed and dedicated to the course we believe in and spread our dear party’s message of hope to Ghanaians,” he charged the executives.
