PPP hasn't withdrawn its rigging claim: Khurshid Shah

Last Updated On 24 July,2015, Source

Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah has on Friday said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) hasn’t yet withdrawn its rigging claim. However, he said that the party had accepted the judicial commission’s report despite reservations on Election 2013, reported Dunya News.

Talking to media today in Islamabad, Khurshid Shah said that PPP was still firm on its stance regarding rigging. He said that PPP was a party in the commission and stood with Imran Khan but left him after he aligned himself with Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr. Tahirul Qadri and attacking the parliament.

Shah said that Imran Khan did the right thing by accepting the judicial commission’s report. He said that the government should immediately present the report in the parliament.

Opposition Leader said that though the commission’s report has vindicated the government’s stance yet the rulers should remain humble. He said that PPP is not friendly to the government but friendly to democracy.

“The question of apology over the allegations is between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan.

Dictators have ruled this country in the past and graver mistakes have been made. Imran Khan’s mistake of sitting on the container for 5 months was smaller in fact”, he said.

PPP leader said that his party had opposed acceptance of PTI’s resignations and had even opposed the moves by Jamiat Ulema Islam – Fazl (JUI-F) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) to get PTI’s resignations accepted.
