PPP mode best for Metro project

Though modalities of the Metro project will be discussed by the Greater Chandigarh Transport Corporation (GCTC) to frame its roadmap in coming days, it is almost clear that the project will be through public private partnership (PPP) mode. Sources on Thursday revealed that all stakeholders of the project have hardly any doubt in this regard, provided any last minute changed by the government. "There is no harm to bring the Metro project under the PPP mode in the Tricity.

It helps to construct big project and Smart City is one of them. Though things regarding the project will be decided by the GCTC, but PPP mode is most favourable for the project", said Kaptan Singh Solanki, governor of Punjab and Haryana and UT`s administrator, while talking exclusively to TOI. While giving his views, Vijay Dev, UT`s adviser to administrator, said: "PPP mode is also one of the mechanisms which GCTC has to examine while executing the project.
