The communist PPP regime has ordered summary executions and ethnic cleansing of the peace loving population of Linden. After first trying to starve the Lindeners out with the closure of the bauxite company, who were the largest employer in the region, the regime then conspired with a Chinese government owned company to hike up electricity prices beyound the reach of anyone other than rich drug dealers. When the local population decided to voice their disapproval, the PPP regime sent in death squads to summary execute as many Lindeners as possible. These executions have been in the planning stage for several months now. The regime has been stockpiling heavy weapons in the last few months in preparation for these murderous attacks on unarmed civilians.

Not since colonial rule has the state slaughtered so many innocent unarmed civilians.

We call on the outside world to come to our aid before this regime turns Guyana into a permanent base for communists and drugs lords.

This has little to do with electricity costs and a lot to do with narrow political opportunism.  The Joint Opposition knows come next election, the PPP will be back with a comfortable majority and are trying their utmost to make the most "hay" while this window of opportunity shines.

There needs to be a full and impartial investigation and all who are responsible, directly or indirectly, should be brought to answer.

Why are you acting as a PPP apologist? The people of Linden are diverse in colour and religion but are all equally affected by these unjust price hikes and profiteering by the PPP regime. No other region in Guyana has been subjected to such obvious attempt to drive the population away from their land. There is no shred of evidence to support your notion of political opportunities by the Lindeners. On the contrary. These murders were being planned by the PPP for some time now. The regime has been acquiring and building up an arsenal of heavy military equipment since before the last election. Since then the regime has been planning ways to suspend the constitution and embark on a whole sale termination of opposition party members. Just watch how the regime will be incarcerating opposition leaders and using greater force to wipe out sections of the population.

Where have I interjected ethnicity into the discussion?  Where have I interjected a defense of the PPP?  Why is a national average consumer rate unjust to Linden?

Everything you posted is pure conjecture and personal unsubstantiated opinion.

It seems that way. And it should not come as a surprise. By targeting one racial group the regime is hoping that that group will take out its revenge on any other racial group that it hold responsible for the situation. That process was first conjured up by the PPP and PNC in the early 60's, and trialled in Wismar as it happened. This is a repeat of that situation. The only real difference is that the regime is now Indian led, whilst it was black led in 1963.

As the AFC's "statement" puts it, martyrdom.  Inciting violence, creating victims and seeking external involvement fits a broader strategic agenda.

This incident marks the "end of the AFC" as a credible political force in Guyana.

So you are saying the mostly "Indian" PPP colluded with the mostly Afro security, who voted 90% PNC to shoot their Afro, mostly PNC brethren to keep the PPP in power!  This reminds me of the "Fineman" line of thinking.

Now, I must say, the only more ludicrous statement I heard recently is Michelle Bachmann insinuating Huma Abedin being an agent of the Muslim Brotherhood!

If you are speaking of the PPP opportunism and heavy handed autocratic political entitlement thinking then you are right. They killed people. Get that in your granite head. People have a right to protest. That is how they express dissent in democratic societies. Democratic governments do not shoot them for protesting.

I always said that the AFC was an anti-PPP party even if means colluding with the  PNC. I'm sure there are impartial members who are not partisian, but with members like Freddie and Benschop who are definitely anti-govt, I am afraid Gerhardt is being set up for a political fall.

Absolutely, right to protest, but not to destroy property.  But regardless, the reaction by the security needs to be examined and a full investigation initiated.  It was uncalled-for.

Why should they not be anti PPP when the PPP governs using the Marcos/Suharto kith and kin rape the state strategy? They just killed four people for protesting a mishandled utilities price hike.

That's the impression that the Indian led PPP regime will have us believe. By keeping the presence of Indians very low key the regime can then hope for a build up of racial tension.
