28 Govt. vehicles suspiciously transferred days before elections, probe launched
Days before the May 11 General and Regional Elections, several vehicles used by officials of the former administration were transferred to private officials.
The matter is now being investigated by the new Government.
According to sources from the Government and the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA), the Ministry of the Presidency has received a list of some 28 vehicles, including SUVs and cars that were transferred under suspicious circumstances between May 6-8, the week before the elections.
Kaieteur News was reliably informed that they went to main family and friends of the previous administration.
Yesterday, Minister of State Joseph Harmon, declined to comment on the matter saying that it was too early to make any statements.
However, this newspaper was told that the list is in the possession of the Presidentβs office, with engagements ongoing with the GRA on the matter.
