In an astonishing turn of events, PPP supporters across the country have been defacing the image of the PPP presidential candidate Ramotar.
Underlining their feelings, the protesters took great care not to vandalise the actual posters, or billboards. Neither have they damaged any other part of the PPP election posters. It is only the facial image of Ramotar that has been painted over.
With this highly selective display of discontent, these radical PPP supporters are trying to send a very strong message to the PPP hierarchy that the PPP election campaign with Ramotar as presidential candidate is failing to mobilize support. Recent dismal PPP election rallies have been poorly attended, forcing the PPP to bus in outside supporters in many areas.
