PPP to actively participate in by polls, local body elections: Wattoo

LAHORE: President Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Punjab chapter Manzoor Wattoo Monday said that his party would not only contest the by polls but also the local body elections in Punjab, Geo News reported.

Addressing a press conference here, Manzoor Wattoo claimed that Shahbaz Sharif used to lead the protest against the electricity loadshedding (during the PPP rule) and advised him to re-establish his camp at Minar-e-Pakistan.

He lamented that the Federal Budget had provided no relief to the salaried class, terming the 10 percent raise in salaries as insufficient.

He said the entire burden of GST has been put on the masses and maintained that the N-League made use of false promises to obtain public mandate. “The budget also ignored the education of the poor children,” Wattoo added.
