PPP to play role of active opposition: Khosa

May 29, 2013 - Updated 1925 PKT, Source

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples' Party (PPP) Secretary General Lateef Khosa Wednesday said that they were not going for collusion with anybody, adding that his party would perform a role of active opposition in the largest interest of the country, Geo News reported.

Talking to a news conference, Mr. Khosa said that his party would contest the next general elections with sword as its electoral symbol.

He flayed the statement of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif in which he had said that Punjab voted with intelligence, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa voted with emotions and Sindh voted with its tradition.

Mr. Khoso said that Sharif had attempted to promote provincialism instead of promoting solidarity and harmony.

He claimed that PPP's vote had been stolen in Balochistan, adding that if the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) would verify the thumb impressions the rigging would be exposed.
