KARACHI: The ruling PPP in Sindh has finally showed some flexibility in formation of the new Local Government System on Tuesday, in an attempt to avoid confrontation-like situation with its former allies, the MQM.

Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon said that if MQM comes up with better and positive proposals about Sindh Local Government law 2013, the government is ready to incorporate their proposals through amendments.

The party’s flexible response came after President Zardari said that PPP is willing to continue a working relationship with MQM, even if it remains in opposition.

Memon said that any law could be improved any time as possibility of bringing improvements always remains intact. He added that a committee constituted by Sindh CM for preparing local government draft held meetings with MQM leaders, and gave them draft of the proposed LG bill, aimed at seeking their proposals. β€œIf any positive proposals are suggested by them, they will be incorporated,” he said. staff report.
