Firstly, the sham Civic component can be dropped and it will be easier to write PPP instead of PPP/C.
There are a few leaders who will vamoose to other lands and others will face the tune of investigative commissions.
What this means is that the yolk of Jagdeo - the cuss-down man who was single-handedly responsible for the PPP/C's drop in voters in the last two elections - will be lifted. Maybe, just maybe, what rising star Khemraj Ramjattan called for when he was banished from the PPP - removing all references to Marxism-Lenninism - will be gone. The PPP needs to come in to the 21st century and embrace social media and digital technologies. With this openness and light shed on their party activities, the clique-ism will be history. We can then see bright minds in the party.
Really, when I was calling for a re-branding of the PNC, it was for a marketing purposes to pry Indians loose from this notion of blackman bad. [Moses's bold move in a sense made this moot and his coalition idea was tantamount to a re-branding....so there, Dolly Hassan's point was vindicated]. Now the PPP needs to re-brand itself from the thieving, corrupt image that Jagdeo slapped on it to one where the public can trust it.
Transparency, transparency, transparency....respect for Guyanese intelligence....that's all. Our ingenuity and smarts will build the rest (Caribny's institutions, private investment, domestic and foreign, technology transfers, etc.).
