PPP youth arm holds vigil in support of kidnapped Nigerian students

The Progressive Youth Organisation (PYO), youth arm of the ruling People's Progressive Party (PPP) held a well attended candlelight vigil in solidarity with the worldwide movement which is seeking to have 230 Nigerian school girls kidnapped by a terrorist organization released. The vigil was held at the Kitty Seawall area and attracted participation from adults and young people from a wide cross section of society. Among those showing support were First Lady Deolatchmee Ramotar, Education Minister Priya Manickchand, Minister of Agriculture Dr Leslie Ramsammy, the delegates from the Miss Guyana World pageant and several others.
