My turntable is going strong. Yes, some of them run into a few thousand (mine included). The stylus alone will run you a thousand.

And what's that, like USD 80k??

1 million G$ = UD$5,000

15 millionG$= 15 x 5,000 = US$75,000

Buying a house like that in the Good ole USA will run you now US$400,000

Well depends on the Area.

You should not compare Guyana to US.  It's not about the cost of the material.  In that case, the US would be cheaper than Guyana!

Not really a comparison, but someone owning a property like that in the Queens Area or Long Island (all children married out) only himself and wife,

As he become age able, the thought would hit him that he do not need such a big house. With winter and all the harsh weather, he would think of moving to sunny Guyana. As I said a house like that in the USA would fetch 400,000-500,000 cool, with that money, he could use up US$100,000 in Guyana and build a similar house.....with US$400,000 in the Bank....he would have it made for the rest of this life. Imagine APNU/AFC would move out G$60 Billion from the banking System. I would want to believe that the interest that the bank would then pay out, will be much higher than current. From a .75% should go to 4.5 - 5 percent.

East Bank Corridor Ideal Spot, there are still a few plots available

that was going for G$1.5 mil.  With APNU/AFC the cost for that same plot might have reduced a bit.

US$100,000 = G$20 million: Could buy a plot, and build your dream house. You will still have money in the bank, or to invest in Government treasuries. This way you will still have your capital, and living off 3 to 4 million Guyana Dollars per year.

Anyone going back to Guyana to reside? Think carefully, taking the crime situation into consideration.

Life is a gamble.
