Sindh chief minister directs ministers to make adequate arrangements for death anniversary of slain PPP chairman Benazir Bhutto

KARACHI - Presiding over a meeting of Sindh ministers belonging to the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Tuesday, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah stressed upon all ministers to make adequate arrangements for the party’s public meeting to be held at Garhi Khuda Bux on December 27 – the death anniversary of slain PPP chairman Benazir Bhutto.

“The needful be done to pay due homage and respect to our great leader Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, who struggled for the restoration of democracy and the rights of people in the country,” he said, speaking on the occasion.

The meeting was attended by provincial ministers Ali Nawaz Shah, Ali Mardan Shah, Makhdoom Jameel Zaman, Manzoor Wasan, Nadir Magsi, Ayaz Soomro, Rafique Engineer, Abdul Haq Bhurt, Sajid Jokhiyo, Shazia Marri, Jam Saifullah Dharejo, Murad Ali Shah, Agha Taimoor Pathan, Mukesh Kumar Chawla, Dr Mohan Lal, Ali Nawaz Shah Rizvi and Political Coordinator to Chief Minister Siddique Abu Bhai.

The chief minister said that several teams will be constituted to look after the problems with regards to the December 27 public meeting, where hundreds of thousands of people are expected to participate.

The ministers also gave various suggestions and ideas to make the gathering a successful event that may be remembered for a long time.

According to the official handout issued by the Chief Minister’s House, Shah said the present government under the policies of PPP and vision of Benazir Bhutto has strived to resolve the issues being faced by the people and it is essential to divert full attention towards completion of development schemes in all sectors.

“All ministers should monitor the progress and standard of various schemes being executed in the province,” he said. “The year of 2011-12 has been declared ‘Year of Development’ and all departments and agencies concerned have to play their role for development and progress of the province.”
