Following a meeting today [Thursday October 3] between President Donald Ramotar and a team from A Partnership for National Unity (APNU), it was agreed that Police Commissioner [ag] Leroy Brumell will be confirmed in his position.

There have been many calls from sections of society for Brumell to be confirmed.

Head of the Presidential Secretariat, Dr. Roger Luncheon earlier told reporters that the meeting between the President and the APNU team will focus on constitutional appointments.

This probes the APNU does not realy have a mature understanding of what ails us. This fellow is another scab on our nations sores.

The necessity for a new culture in the police is not furthered by putting in place another hack  who is acculturated into a state of complacent acquiescence of the status quo.

This fellow did not have the guts to face squarely what happened at linden. He took no initiative to get to the truth but toed the political line and did a political jig. This is a bad decision and one that will not bode well for police reforms.

Actually, he never voiced any objection to the horrible practices of police force he oversees. Say hooray for another bench warmer and go along to get along do nothing police commissioner.

Finally you acknowledge that Rhoee is not the only one to blame. In the past you neglected to hold accountable the head of the police and all his PNC underlings. Now what is your excuse for still supporting the afc/pnc coalition that has Brummel in their pocket?

Dude, your idea of "finally" implies I supported some good sense of ours along the way. I am yet to see that. You are a liar, an avowed disinformation peddler and an over all duplicitous fellow. If there is anything of good sense that we agree one it is remote and serendipitous.

Rohee sits like a god on a cloud. He contemplates everything and nothing. He is as useless as a god on a cloud. We do not need people in god mode. We need people with sense and a dedication to work. More we need people we can fire when the notion ( supported or unsupported by facts as to their worth or not) when they have lost the peoples confidence. Rohee, would have been a distant memory if the people of Guyana could through their elected representatives, fire him.

The PPP is celebrating " a return to democracy" when we have an executive presidency, and when the AG insists the parliament has no authority whatsoever to check the executive. We are in a world where a ramotar or a jagdeo or a rohee can be selected by 15 people and through long dependencies on race based voting guarantee office. We have a paper democracy. We live in a corrupt oligarchic political system.

Every PPP Home Affairs minister have been blamed for the state of crime in Guyana when you very well know that the pNC/Afc leadership in the police force are the ones who are responsible for reducing criminal activities. Rhoee could very well be named Gail or Gadjraj and your bitterness would still be the same. The world at large acknowledges that the PPP is democratically elected and that Guyana is a democracy, only you and the others who want to usurp power via illegitimate means see otherwise.
