President David Granger has expressed profound gratitude to his Cabinet members, staff and the rest of the nation for their support, prayers and well wishes for his complete recovery.

He was speaking at a welcome home and prayer ceremony hosted this morning at State House, according to a release from the Ministry of the Presidency.

The President, who has been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, returned to the country last night after receiving medical treatment in Cuba.

“Thank you for your expressions of concern over the last three weeks… Throughout that time, I received greetings from you all and from other well-wishers and, more than the greetings, prayers and I am truly grateful,” he said.

The President, the release said, also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister, Moses Nagamootoo and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carl Greenidge for “continuing to govern seamlessly”, during his absence.

Prime Minister Nagamootoo said that the nation was pleased to welcome the President back home and assured him that his Cabinet and members of the National Security Committee worked to ensure that the country continued to be governed well in his absence.

“We have never been more cohesive, more purposeful, than we have been in these last few weeks,” he said, according to the release.

The service, which was organised by Minister of Social Protection,  Amna Ally, also included the recitation of prayers by Central Islamic Organisation’s Director of Education, Shaikh Moeen-ul-Hack; Representative of the Guyana Pandits Ubraj Narine and Full Gospel Assemblies of God, Pastor Winston McGowan.

Nonsense, politics aside, most except for the sloppy boys are decent folks.  When push come to shove, they wish the man well, so get over it and live with the fact that your wish to demonize people has implode on you wicked people.

Why all dem people lookin so serious?...like dey not too happy Granger back home or what?

Its a prayer meeting and some people are serious when dem praying. Plus, like most people, dem sad dat de man is sick and praying for his improved health.

Also, if the photographer had moved slightly to  the left, they would have got a better picture.  The significant people faces on the right are not shown properly.

Waiting for an appropriate moment  to take a picture is important, than  taking a random picture with some one head looking down.

If the photographer was a bit  higher, by getting  to the far back of the room and stand on a chair, so they don't disturb the ceremony,  the back row faces would have shown better.

Standing higher when photographing groups of people in tiers, is advisable to show faces clearer.
