President, First Lady enjoy Aerial Demonstration Squadron
President Donald Ramotar, First Lady Deolatchmee Ramotar and Brazilian Ambassador to Guyana Clemente Baena Soares were among the spectators this afternoon who enjoyed the exciting Brazilian Air Demonstration Squadron popularly known as the Smoke Squadron.
Whilst the President, First Lady and guests, enjoyed the aerial techniques of the Brazilian squadron from the lawns of the Guyana Defence Force, Camp Ayanganna, others observed the show from Kitty Seawall and from as far at Camp and Lamaha, streets.
A team of over 20 pilots working with seven T-27 airplanes entertained the crowd with several flying formats including crossing and upside-down flying.
The activity was organised by the Civil Aviation Authority in celebration of 100 years of civil aviation in Guyana.
The Brazilian Air Force visited Guyana for the first time in 2008 and performed during the Caribbean Festival of Arts, (Carifesta).
