And this is the first time the party has fallen below 50% in the vote count and the results point to a continuing decline of support since 2001.

The party lost 17,000 votes from 2006, and 44,000 from its showing in 2001. In District 6, which is a key stronghold for the party, it received almost 10,000 less votes than it did in the last elections.

A combination of apathy, disaffection, migration and a declining birth rate, the PPP will continue to suffer a decline in support from it's predominantly Indos support base.

THe opposition could push for the Freedom of Inforamation act; expose how much his travelling cost the tax payers. Expose how much of the tax payers money he used to support the extravaganza election campaign.

All three major industry failed during his tenure. We do not produce even half of what we consume. We beg for most and the largest income earner is remittances. Had it not been for the environmentally destructive process of small mining industry, our income would even be more in the doldrums.

Let me make this simple for you nah.

If “more fire slow fire” is a constant at all elections then
Guyana gross national debt is directly proportional to the amount of elections held in Guyana but at the same time, the gross national dept is inversely proportional to the amount of time the PPP governs Guyana. This is a compelling and good enough reason for Guyana to have the minimum amount of elections –every five years- and elect the PPP every time you go to the poll.

There are more small and medium businesses in Guyana more than any point in it's history.
Real Estate construction is strong creating employment. There are taxis and car rentals in Guyana, to the extent we never had before. There are even call centers operating in Guyana, and supermarkets and retail stores more than anytime in the history of Guyana. This is just to name a few. Service industry creates jobs.

The businesses buy and sell and that market is mainly seconds ( second hand quality as in the outlet malls, or used machinery equipment etc) we build nothing. We should be manufacturing many things from kitchen utensils to small engines, to boats to housing fixtures. We are in the buying and selling since that is where the washing of the excess cash occurs.
