OK Folks:

We all know that President Ramotar's choice for speaker is Ralph Ramkarran. Of course, the AFC and PNC(apnu) are dead set against the PPP assuming the speakership.

The problem is the AFC is insisting that Moses gets the speakership--and the PNC is dead set against Moses.

SO HOW WILL THIS PLAY OUT ?

Moses recently mentioned that if the PNC does not support his candidacy--then he and the AFC ought to reach out to the PPP.

AFC's Trotman wants nothing to do with the PPP----you see folks---Trotty is an old PNC thug---he has feelings for the PNC---and secretly he is supporting PNC's Backer for the speakership.

Forget about Trotman---let's talk about President Ramotar.

QUESTION:

If one of the opposition parties were to assume the speakership---would it be wise for Ramotar and the PPP to support AFC's Moses or should they choose not to offend afro Guyanese and throw their support behind PNC's Backer ?

The way the Rev sees it---nothing the PPP does will ever please supporters of the PNC---NOTHING!

It would therefore be politically wise for the PPP to support Moses as speaker.

Let's see how this plays out.

The way things are right now:

* PNC Granger...finds Moses unsuitable

* AFC Trotman...secretly supports PNC Backer

* AFC Ramjattan...supports Moses

* PPP Ramotar...would be wise to support Moses.

I see you have nearly 10,000 posts on this forum.

The Rev is new here and would appreciate if you could point me to a single post of yours where you have demonstrated a semblance of intelligence and reason. Thanks.

RE: NAGAMOOTOO

I am no fan of his. I believe he allowed his anger against Jagdeo to overwhelm him and he unwisely quit the PPP for the PNC Lite(afc).

Moses now aspires to be speaker---he has the support of Ramjattan, and I believe it would bode the PPP well to support Moses instead of Backer.

When all is said and done I won't be surprised to see the PNC hoodwink the AFC and assume the speakership.

BUT MOSES AS SPEAKER WOULD BE A POLITICAL PLUS FOR THE PPP.

How can you refer to the PPP as a destructive party ?

When Jagan and the PPP won the election in 1992 Guyana was bankrupt---the PNC had destroyed the economy.

Today Guyana is on the move economically---there is progress in nearly all sectors.

WAS THERE CORRUPTION UNDER JAGDEO AND THE PPP ?

Absolutely!

Listen, politicians will always be crooked and corrupt.

But while the PNC destroyed Guyana during their corrupt tenure---the PPP has contributed immensely to Guyana's current growth and development during their corrupt tenure.

Now, dont get me wrong---I am totally against corruption---and every corrupt PPP politician ought to be castrated.

BUT JUST DONT TELL ME THAT THE PPP HAS BEEN A DESTRUCTIVE PARTY.

That would be an egregious LIE! Guyana has made great strides under the PPP.

warrior:

You obviously harbor a deep prejudice against the PPP government.

Listen, you claim that the PPP had 20 years to develop Guyana and did nothing---you describe Guyana as a backward country.

Well warrior here are some numbers to refute your claim that Guyana has not progressed under the PPP---and remember warrior:

NUMBERS DON'T LIE!

Check this out warrior:

In 1992 when the PPP took over the government, Guyana's GDP per capita was $250US

In 2010 Guyana's GDP per capita had grown to $2500US

$250US(1992)---->$2500US(2010)

That's a 1000% increase in GDP per capita----that's progress warrior not backwardness.

Under the PNC Guyana was classified as a least developed country. Today Guyana is classified as a middle income country.

NUMBERS DON'T LIE WARRIOR.

The Rev can present lots more data to show how nicely Guyana has progressed under the PPP.

Go and research Life Expectancy in Guyana when the PNC was in charge---and check out life expectancy in Guyana today.

Bottom line:

GUYANA HAS PROGRESSED UNDER THE PPP AND HER BEST DAYS ARE STILL TO COME.

Let's give Desmond some credit---the ERP(economic recovery program) was implemented under his watch.

BUT THEN HE AGREED TO FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS IN 1992.

And as you know raymond---free and fair elections and the PNC will never, ever, ever win the Presidency--NEVER!

FACT:

Between 1964 and 1992---PNC's rule---Guyana's GDP per capita declined.

Between 1992 and present---PPP's rule---Guyana's GDP per capita increased 1000%

THE PPP HAS BEEN A BLESSING FOR GUYANA.

Hopefully Ramotar will weed out some of the corruption in the PPP---either that or he himself will become corrupt like Jagdeo.

BUT GUYANA'S ECONOMIC PROGRESS WILL CONTINUE.

You mean supporting a man who is openly appealing to the PPP for help?

If I were APNU I would sit down and do nothing and let Ramkarran continue. They know what he is about. Nagamootoo is probably trying to get back to the PPP now that Jagdeo is not visibly around.

So if the PPP is so magnanimous why dont they make Nagamootoo happy and take him back and make him Speaker. The man will be so happy.

If the AFC suffers from such low self esteeem that they dont think that any of their stalwarts is suitable they deserve to be replaced by the PPP and sent off to the same place that the PPP sent TUF.
