President reiterates Gov’t readiness “for any elections”

THE contention, as expressed by members of the combined Opposition, that the current administration is ‘worried’ about the no-confidence motion was dismissed by President Donald Ramotar.“It is absolute nonsense (that the Government is worried)…for us it does not matter which election comes first. We are prepared for any elections, local government or general elections,” he told the Guyana Chronicle.

The people of Guyana made a great mistake in 2011. They suffered the consequences of that mistake. They learn from that mistake, and they will never make that mistake again to vote for anyone else than the PPP.

Conscience, why Danald Rumtar so afraid of the electorate?

Since the opposition talked about their "no confidence" motion, the P.P.P has indicated their readiness for elections, the AFC/APNU knew to their gut that the P.P.P was a victim of their own success...the P.P.P would most likely secure a majority at the next elections.

FM

The P.P.P admitted that they were very complacent in the lead up to the 2011 polls, many say they did not reach out enough to the grass root supports among a few other issues, 99% of which has been resolved, should the snap elections called in 2015, the P.P.P would most certainly be victorious.

Considering everything that has happened since the last three years under President, Donald Ramotar, people will not support his party in the same numbers that they did in 2011, especially when they look at the corruption, the environmental crimes and the unsolved problems that continue to affect foreign direct investment…the people are fed up with the government and President Ramotar’s tenure of office has been a disaster.

Quite frankly, the tide has turned against the PPP. Our victory is inevitable,” Granger concluded.

The joint opposition APNU/AFC ego-centrism has gotten the best of them, as such their razor thin "majority" would be lost come 2015 snap elections. The P.P.P would regain the majority one year earlier than predicted.

FM

GECOM list should be fully sanitize before the holding of local and general elections, the P.P.P should remain relevant and ensure the list is not padded by agents of the joint opposition.

The present government need to be sanitized, this will happen after they have lost the election.

The only thing padded would be a few of their many cells.

Perhaps the views of a few individuals, Cain.

Actually thats the view of majority Guyanese the last election is a testament to what Cain has stated above.

The numbers doan lie.

While the general election's results do indeed show a majority of one for the combined opposition parties, there are radically changed conditions for the 2011 elections.

While the AFC was promoting a non-committal position during the campaign period, immediately after the election, it showed its true intentions by firmly aligning with the PNC.

Conditions and perspectives have radically changed since the last elections. While some believe that the AFC is gaining strength, it will be a sad day at the next election to see the significant reduction of seats it gained in the 2011 election.

One contributing factor to the PPP's strength at the polls is the real fear of the alternative. That.....that is, the opposition's dilemma.

In as much as people here may dislike the PPP they have to be realistic - it is not about who can govern best or who is less corrupt and thieving; it is about who is best positioned to win. Maybe it is a sad commentary, but it is what it is.

The opposition has done more to alienate voters than to attract with their vindictiveness in parliament. Budget cuts hurted everyone and helped no one. People have gotten fed with of the opposition for stopping many developmental projects and making life harder for the average person in society. Both APNU and the AFC will get less votes at the next elections

The main focus in any election is to win. The objective while in power is to serve the people, though, a government will always be criticized by groups and opposition parties.

No government in the world is without fault.

The electorate will endorse the P.P.P with a majority they have already tasted the wrath of the A.F.C/A.P.N.U and can assume what could have happen if remotely the A.F.C/A.P.N.U won, never again would the electorate be complacent.....never again

Many of the critics of the state will be silent when the P.P.P regain the majority, never again those fly by night "politicans" would attempt to put stumbling blocks on the path of Guyana's development, come 2015, the AFC/APNU would lose their grip on the "razor thin" majority.

The PPP are not getting a majority. They are losing more. That is not probability but certainty given the prevailing animosity that has increase since the suffered large scale defection of their base. Add to that a decrease of some 17k of their base.

One of the reason the Census Bureau has not released the ethnic numbers is they are playing politics. They know we can use that data to better bring about a PPP loss. I also know the have the data because only stupid statisticians would have structured the input fields such that cross tabs of any kind from the input data would be difficult. They are just hiding the data from us.

Leave Storm alone. He will have to buy a few yards of rope after the PPP wins with a 52 percent majority.

Wishful thinking? I said you would be a minority government and you are. There is even less evidence that you can do as well as you did the last time.

I will buy rope...to hang some of those thieves when the option to charge them for thieft and murder of our citizens.

As I said, the parents and significant others of those who lost loved ones to RK need to appeal to the Hague for assistance to ferret out those who murdered them. 400 hundred murdered constitute crimes against humanity and it should be a campaign slogan to let the public know who the PPP are.

Raymond spoke against repeated posting of photo shopped pictures on GNI and I still see it posting. These pictures become very distasteful and has no substance to a meaningful discourse.
