[www.inewsguyana.com] – A resort outing turned deadly for a young lady on Thursday evening after she was stabbed repeatedly about the body with a broken bottle by a woman who is reportedly her best friend.

Though reports at this time are sketchy, iNews understands that 20-year-old Renita Thomas of Sunflower Clove, South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, was stabbed allegedly by her best friend after a trip to the Aracari Resort on Thursday, May 21.

iNews understand that Thomas and the other woman have children and opted to take the backseat of the car to go home; however the assailant objected and an argument started.

Police Sources have confirmed that the main suspect – Angelique Williams – was having an argument with the other friend when Thomas reportedly tried to “mediate” and bring an end to the issue.

However, the suspect turned on Thomas, breaking a bottle and stabbing her about the body several times.

The incident reportedly took place at Versailles, West Bank Demerara.

When iNews contacted the mother of the dead young woman, she  was inconsolable and was unable to provide additional information, except to confirm that her  daughter had died.

Williams is in police custody assisting with investigations.
